ABSOLUTELY is an experimental
documentary about history, politics, and the body. It juxtaposes
social change, dogma and state sanctioned mind control with
carnal systems. Weaving through various sources of re-contextualized
found footage, ABSOLUTELY interviews four characters about
democracy, revolution and their internal manifestations. At
first these collaged characters seem stubbornly manufactured
in their ideologies. However, their interactions with each
other force them to shift their temporality, sentiment and
convictions. Through a maze of language and images, this work
shakes the assumptions that we bring to the the genre of documentary,
as well as the political stereotypes that play out in our
image saturated world. ABSOLUTELY facilitates the possiblities
of taking apart what has already been made, and making it
into something new; giving breath to solutions from inside
existing tensions. |
